Can you believe that we're already a month into the new year, and we've already put together a diverse and eclectic bunch of releases for you! I think Animal Collective released their new album some time around here in 2009, and it still ended up on many "best of 2009" lists. If that is anything to go by, then this could sail into a few for 2010.

To coincide with his new release "Dance Session", due out 6th February 2010. Chad Golda will be performing at Basement 414 with his friend, Dan Labrie. The performance will be a live sound performance with video projection and improvised noise. Thankfully I am promised that a recording will exist for those who geographically can't make it!

Despite a recent spate of radio friendly releases, Rack & Ruin do like to be uncompromising on occasion, and so perhaps releasing the new one from noise artist Billy Say is one way to show this! This release is definitely one which will not be to everybody's taste, but those willing to take that risk may just find their rewards.

Happy New Year to one and all! I hope 2010 is a wonderful and successful year for you all. Coming up on Rack & Ruin we will start the new decade off in uncompromising fashion, with some harsh noise from Billy Say, followed by some happy electronica from Cldscp. Expect new ones from the likes of Lean Horse Marathon, Gnomefoam, Chad Golda, and Minor Constellations early in the year.
